We live in a cross-cultural world. Got ESL? Know what that means? English as a second language. Nearly everyone I know speaks ESL out in public, but their own language at home: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tagalog, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Swahili, etc. It’s my job, by choice, to work with speakers of other languages. My job is to help them have functional English for their public lives.
